About us
A sanctuary for your dog. An asset to the room.
True orthopedic rest should never require visual noise. We design dog beds with the mass, proportion, and structural calm of permanent furniture.
The starting point
In a home curated with intention, the dog bed is often the single broken promise: a loose fabric sack pushed into a corner, losing its shape within weeks and settling against the cold floor.
Why we started
Omaia was founded to remove that contradiction.
We build a resting place that honors the aesthetic of your home and protects the body of your dog. The same materials, proportion, and tolerances you would expect from the furniture already standing in the room.
The objection
The industry term
The word "orthopedic" gets stamped on almost any padded cushion in this industry, whether the foam holds its shape or collapses within months.
The architectural fact
Real protection requires a solid, two-layer continuous core that doesn't shift sideways, carried by a chrome steel chassis that keeps its shape under repeated weight.
Three people who didn't want to lower the bar at home.
We are Philip, Jorrit, and Tom, based in Amsterdam. Coming from backgrounds in design and brand building, Omaia started from a simple, shared frustration: in rooms where every chair, table, and light was chosen with care, the dog bed remained the single design compromise.
Our understanding of what a dog physically needs on the floor began years earlier with Philip and Jorrit's miniature dachshund, Floortje, whose vulnerable back taught us how quickly hard surfaces cause joint strain. When the three of us looked at the market, we found only two extremes: clinical foam mattresses wrapped in cheap textile, or pretty lifestyle cushions offering zero ergonomic support.
We founded Omaia to end that divide. We build in small, considered runs, designing a resting place with the mass, honest materials, and quiet longevity of permanent furniture.
